Commissioning

Before powering on, verify all of the following:

  • The battery is correctly installed (wall-mounted, floor-mounted, or stack-mounted as applicable).
  • All DC power cables are correctly connected: positive (+) to positive, negative (−) to negative. No polarity reversal.
  • All communication cables are correctly connected: OUT port of each battery to IN port of the next; last battery OUT to PCS.
  • The ground wire is securely connected from the battery PE terminal to earth.
  • All cable connections are tight and secure. No loose terminals.
  • The installation area is clear of bystanders, animals, and foreign objects (especially metal).

Power ON Sequence​

Before operating the product, ensure that no bystanders or animals are present in the working area, all foreign objects, especially metal, are kept away from the battery, and all cables are connected correctly with all terminals tightened firmly.

  1. Press the battery switch to turn on the equipment.

  2. Wait 1–2 minutes for the BMS to complete its self-check routine.

  3. Verify the RUN indicator (green LED) is lit, confirming normal operation. The SOC LEDs will display current charge level.

  4. Power on the Sunsynk inverter according to its own user manual.

Power OFF Sequence​

  1. Power off the Sunsynk inverter according to its own user manual.

  2. Press the battery switch to stop the equipment.

  3. Wait at least 5 minutes before touching any cables or terminals.

  4. After the waiting period, disconnect all cable connections if required.

Buzzer​

The SS-16kWh-Y-BATT-IP21-00 is equipped with a buzzer that sounds an alarm to alert you to check whether the equipment is in one of the following situations:

  • Charge the battery immediately
  • Check wiring and correct polarity
  • Contact Sunsynk service
  • Check inverter connection; measure cell voltage; contact service if normal connection confirmed
